About Johnny Russo & the East Hill Classic Jazz Band
Founded by Geneva native John Russo, the East Hill Classic Jazz Band has evolved into one of the Finger Lakes’ finest traditional jazz preservation musical organizations. The performers will be Johnny Russo on trombone and trumpet, guitarist Doug Robinson, an Ithaca College alumnus, the most sought-after guitar accompanist in the Ithaca and Finger Lakes area. Also in the group will be Brian Earle on clarinet. Brian is a graduate of Oberlin Music Conservatory and has been associated with Johnny for forty years. Also with him will be Drew Frech, a banjo virtuoso. Both Johnny and Drew are graduates of Eastman School of Music. This is the same group of musicians who played a Carnegie Hall concert several years ago.
