Thank You to all Library Volunteers!
In April 2017, the Library and Geneva Reads held a volunteer recognition event to honor another year of incredible support from volunteers. The Library recognized Justin Babcock, Gene Taras, and Bette Schubert as our 2017 Volunteers of the Year.
During the ceremony, Library Director Chris Finger praised Babcock, still in high school, for being so dedicated to taking on simple projects like shelf dusting, DVD sorting, and computer cleaning that might otherwise have gone undone given the packed workloads of our staff. Taras, who has helped with the Library's Adopt-a-Shelf program for longer and more consistently than any other volunteer, continues to be enthusiastic and his section has never spent a month unorganized. Lastly, Schubert, a long time Friend of the Geneva Public Library, has worked hard to ensure that the Friends group continued to raise the most money it could for the Library. As Treasurer of the Friends, she worked to ensure that the groups' budget was carefully managed, knowing that those funds represented the hard work of countless volunteers.
From all of the staff of the Geneva Public Library, we thank everyone that gives their time, energy, and resources to the Library as a volunteer. Without you, there would be no Geneva Public Library.
